Ron Gilbert did marvelous job once again! Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge is nothing less than the original! It is a game with hilarious dialogues and weird sense of humor that made original an instant classic among adventure fans all around the world.

This time, main character, Guybrush Threepwood, is a pirate full of confidence, with new fancy look and clothing. Many years has passed since he defeated the most feared pirate of all time, Ghost Pirate LeChuck. For some time Guybrush enjoyed fame amongst the pirates, but when his popularity started to wane, he decided to find a legendary treasure called the Big Whoop, and to be the center of attention again once again.

In the beginning of this adventure, he is having trouble with Largo LaGrande, a former LeChuck's sidekick. Since the defeat of LeChuck, this guy has been terrorizing Scabb Island. In a couple of unfortunate events, he managed to steal LeChuck's beard from Guybrush and bring back LeChuck to life, as a rotten zombie.

Guybrush must quickly find the ancient treasure, Big Whoop, because it is the only way to get rid of LeChuck once and for all. He has to search three different islands, Scabb, Booty, and Phatt in hope of finding the four map pieces that lead to the treasure.

Although this sequel is published only year after first game, artists did an excellent job and made even more detailed backgrounds and characters. Interface remained mostly the same and the puzzles are well built, but more difficult.

Once again, gamers have opportunity of seeing old memorable characters such as Stan, Voodoo Lady and Herman Toothrot.
